Latest Projects

Well as I said I would here is an update of what I have been making lately.

Using the following pattern as a guideline I made a lovely hat and scarf set.  I used my basic hat and added the shell stitch from the pattern and altered the flower slightly.

I've made a couple of new designs:

Ryan has been making quite a few requests lately and as a soft touch mum I've been making them :-)

I also made him a hat and scarf set with the wool that he picked.  I'm going to have to go wool shopping without him in the future as he keeps picking wools and asking for more stuff :-)

I am currently making a hat and possibly a scarf for the harvest festival but as it isn't finished you'll have to wait for the pictures.

I have decided to treat myself to a shawl/blanket, When I've got a few free mins I pick it up and complete a few more rows.  It's coming along nicely:

Getting better

Well this week has been a write off. My IBS kicked off n decided to inflame my stomach. Couldn't eat for 36hrs, no real sleep for 56hrs. I can now only eat things like white bread n fish n chicken. Feeling a lot better n it's nice to be able to eat something.

On a brighter note whilst I've been ill I've made a few things. I haven't got pictures at the moment but I'll post them when I have.

I may have found a new place to buy wool from but I'm not going to go yet otherwise I'll buy more ;-)

Making a hat for the harvest festival. The gifts are to be given to the old peoples home. Thought they might like something hand made.

Catch Up

Sorry I haven't been posting as much lately but it has been so busy!

When I first started to learn to crochet I made a blanket that was made up with lots of different stitches.  It was fantastic to learn all the different stitches but it didn't look great.  Last week I took it to pieces and have decided to make it into a shawl\blanket.  I am making a very large shawl that I can either put around my shoulders or I can use it on my lap as a blanket.  I found a wonderful crochet pattern online:

I have also made a small cowl/scarfelette, I haven't taken any pictures yet but I'll post them soon.

Today I am going to concentrate on some orders I have and then I'm going to make a small present for a friend who is getting married soon.

After all that it is finished I'm going to start making some new designs. 

Above is a picture of some of the things I've made.  I love making new designs for new animals etc.  I am just waiting on some information regarding my sons school fete.  I am going to have a table at the fete and going to see if I can sell some more of my hats.  I still haven't covered all the wool etc that I have bought but as I keep buying new wool I doubt I ever will.

I'll start taking some pictures as I finish making my hats etc this week and I'll post them for you to see.

Good Morning

Good morning everyone!
I think that life is taking a turning point at the moment.  I'm spending a lot of time making things and then advertising things from my new business www.susand1408crochetaddict.co.uk
Things are going really well, I'm making orders, answering enquiries and making new designs when I can.  I have also started typing up my patterns and making them available for sale.
It's really strange that I can't remember a life before crochet!  Everything just seems to be clicking into place.  I do have to say that I am not very good at the small pretty fiddily things!  I tried making a bell angel but it's not up to standard!  I found it difficult to follow the pattern but I think that is just because of my lack of skills.  The pattern is more beautiful than mine: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/patterns/loras_angel.php

So I decided to make one that I found easier and I think turned out better!

I also made a monkey hat this week for an order

I thought about making a sock monkey hat but then decided that there are less normal monkey hats than sock monkeys.

I'm hoping to get a lot of housework done today and then i've got an alien to finish, a penguin hat to make and a santa and elephant hat to finish.  I don't think I'll get it all done today but it's worth a try!

I am also starting to sell my patterns on my site and on ravelry.  I am so addicted to this site that I thought I contribute as well.
My son is back at school now so we are trying to get back into a routine.  I'm hoping I'll have a bit more time next week to give you more of an update.
The business is just starting out but it seems to be going well.  I love making things for other people and I love when they enjoy what I have made.
I made a triceratops hat for my son, he wore it to school today :-).  Only one more hat and he'll have a different hat for each day of the week.
Anyway better go as it's time to run his bath and then it's bedtime.  Once he is in bed I'm planning on making a start on an angel for a friend.  Hope it turns out ok.

Ladybird

My son has lost his favorite cuddly toy.  I've got to spend the weekend searching high and low for it.  I couldn't find it yesterday or today so to make him feel a bit better I made the ladybird he'd been asking me to make him.

What I've been making

I've been away to Skipsea for a weeks holiday. We had no internet access and no signal on my mobile.  We had a really nice relaxing holiday and had lots of fun as well.  The weather could have been better but what did we expect with a holiday in England.  Whilst I was away I had the time to make some more items.  I had an order for a dinosaur hat and scarf, cat bag & a horse hat.  All have been made and I've also made a set of Panda items.  All items for sale have been added to my website www.susand1408crochetaddict.co.uk I've posted the pictures below:
