I've Made Friday Week 52

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week
and are looking forward to the weekend.

Little Red & hubby are off at the moment
but I'll tell you more about that when everything is back to normal.

I decided to make a couple of things
for Easter.

I made a little Easter Egg garland
using a free pattern from Lacy Crochet.
and joining them with a chain.

A little Lamb
Using the free spring squishies pattern
by Josephine Wu
This is a free download from Ravelry
and you get the patterns for a chick, duck, lamb & rabbit:
This was a fantastic and easy pattern to follow.
I think they are also just soooo cute!

I loved following this free pattern
from Lani Herschensohn

Each eggshell has a top and bottom and in each is a chick
I made quite a few in different colours

Then I made up a basket for them to fit in.

But if you've got the eggs and you've got the basket
you need a chicken to sit on them:
The chicken isn't as pretty as the pattern
that I followed but I just wanted a hollow
chicken that the egg could fit in.
This is the free cosy set:
I changed the legs and didn't make the egg cosy inside them
as I was making it for Little Red to Play with.

Wow isn't this sheep hat fantastic!
and it's a free pattern as well
I loved the way she uses a treble crochet with a sc to make the bobbly effect.
I loved making this hat!

I also made a broach for me.
I purchased this pattern
It's for a poppy hat but I have just made the poppy itself
Poppy Flower Girls Hat age 0-3 & 3-6 months 6 -12 1 -3 years crochet Pattern
I love the effect of the big poppy.
It makes a real statement.

Little Red asked if I could make him a scarf to match
his Turtle hat.
and you know I can't resist
making things for Little Red.

As you know I have been following the Online Tunisian Crochet Class
at Craftsy
This is the first washcloth I made

In the next part of the course you learn how to use 3 colours:
I haven't block it yet but I think you'll agree it's very effective.
I just couldn't believe how easy it was to work with 3 colours.
Infact it was easier using the 3 colours than using one.

I listened to:

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

This is a free audio book from Books Should Be Free
(you can listen online, download the audio or the book itself)

Wow I loved this book!
The author also wrote The Secret Garden.
The book is based around a young girl called Sara.
At 7 years old she is brought to London from India by her father.
She is brought to Miss Minchin’s London school
where she has her own bedroom and sitting room
and has a blessed life due to her fathers riches.
Her father was devoted to her and has left her there
reluctantly as he knows she needs schooling.
During her time in school she is a perfect pupil.
Then her father dies penniless. Things take a drastic turn
and Miss Minchin keeps her as a slave and works her to the bone.
For the rest of the story you'll have to read the book ;-)
Sara it such a beautiful child in looks and in her heart.
It's a very touching innocent story that is written beautifully!
I would give this book 5 out of 5

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
to see what other people have been making.
Can you also put the pin and link to this page
so that we can get more people joining in.
Thanks!

I've Made Friday Week 25

I hope you are all having a good week!
I hope Friday is just as good!

I know I showed you some of the hats the other
day but here they are again if you hadn't seen them.
The hats I've made this week:
(patterns for purchase are linked to each picture)

Ladybird

Frog Hat Newborn                                      Frog Hat 3-6mnths
 Frog Hat 6-12 months

                           Meerkat Hat                                                       Bear Hat
Mouse Hat

Then there are the hats I've finished for me:

This is my folded hat.
It was based slightly on the pattern I bought the other week
and didn't work for me.
It's difficult to see in this light but it has a folded part at the front.
I'm planning on finding a beautiful pin or button to go on the side
or maybe a flower.
If I decide I like it I might make it in another colour as well
so you can see the design better.

This is an eyelit cloche
that I bought the pattern of from etsy.
The pattern also includes a flower & a brim if you want it as well

And this is the Julia cloche hat
that I have finished :-)
I bought the pattern at Ravelry
I altered the pattern slightly as I wanted a removable brim

                        Without                                               With

I'm also thinking of making a white flower that I can attach if I want but I haven't decided yet.
By the way all the hats are in black as I am wearing a black and white dress.

This is a last minute add and I'm afraid the pictures aren't brilliant.
I just couldn't wait to show you.

My chicken hat.
Little Red already wanted it before I'd even finished it.

 :-)

This is a quick update with better pictures

This week I read:
Kindle:
Book:

I've got a bit of a mixed review for this one.
The author is a good writer
& I am sure that a different story would be a better read.
The basics of the story is it's about
a thirteen yr old boy called Aaron.
His life has changed for the worse since his dad died.
He overhears a bank robbing gang
and from there things take a turn for the worse.
Some people love the book
but I just couldn't accept the story as it just got
more and more far-fetched!
The worse it got the angrier I got with the story.
I carried on reading as the writing is good
& I hate not finishing a book.
In some ways I wish I hadn't.
The ending was so sickly sweet & unbelievable!
Sorry but this isn't one for me.
I give this book 2 out of 5
Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!

What You Doing Wednesday Week 24

Half way through the week already!
Little Red is having his first day back at school today!
Wish us luck!

This week I've been trying to clear my
WIPs.
I'm not doing too bad.
This is what I have left that is still in progress
(not counting my blankets as they are on hold till it gets colder)

Dora Hat
(this will hopefully be the free pattern for October)
As you can see it's still in the early stages

I still have my Chicken Hat
that I haven't made the features for yet

The Whale Hat

& I'm planning on making my penguin hat in smaller sizes.

I'm still reading three days to die
I don't think I'll have it finished this week
but all in all it's not a bad book.

Kindle:
Book:

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
