What You Doing Wednesday Week 11

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

I hope everyone in the UK (& the rest of the world) had a fantastic Jubilee!

My mum had a tea party yesterday to celebrate.

Here is Little Red with his Uncle having some fun!

Not sure which one is the adult ;-)

I haven't been myself since the Olympic flame.

I pushed myself too much and now the brain fuzz

has really kicked in.
I'm resting and trying to get my brain to work a bit better.
I'm also having a new problem with my feet.
I've never had fantastic circulation but
now my feet seem to be struggling.
When I press down on my foot it takes a while for the blood to return.
I have really dry skin (which I've never had previously)
and my feet keep turning purple with orange spots.
I'll see what the doctor says next time I go.

Due to my brain fuzz and having to rest I decided to use the time to work on my blanket.
I manage to sew quite a bit of my 

African Flower Blanket together.

As you can see it has really grown.

The picture doesn't really do the colours justice.

The next time we get some sunshine I'll take another picture.

I decided as the brain fuzz was bothering me

I would try another blanket.  

I wanted something repetitive that didn't need yarn changing.

I started off trying:

I liked the pattern but I had made it too long and the pattern

used a lot of yarn so I decided to frog it and try another one.

I decided upon:

Smoky Mountain Ripple Afghan

I am really enjoying this pattern.

It has a fantastic result and is nice and easy to follow.

I am using the yarn I won at Christmas which

is Caron Wintuk4

worsted weight yarn.

Little Red is off this week

so we have been making a Dinosaur Island.

Little Red has a book called Dinosaurs Craft Topics,

which gave the instructions of how to build the island.

We haven't finished it yet but we have made the salt dough island.

Next is painting and then building the trees.

but it's a fantasy book

I've Made Friday Week 11

Wow another week has passed already.

I am so looking forward to this weekend.

As it's the Queens Jubilee Hubby is off on Monday & Tuesday.

Little Red is also off this next week.

I made the biggest mistake ever yesterday!

My son really wanted to go and see the olympic flame.

I eventually gave in and said we would go.

This meant walking up to where the flame was going past and waiting for over an hour for it to arrive.

Hubby carried a pack lunch and ran round after Little Red

but the walk etc has had really bad effects on me.

By the time we got back I was in that much pain that my body went into shock.

Little red thought I was just cold as I was shivering and my teeth were chattering.

I went to bed taking some medication first.

Within an hour I was awake again with a really bad asthma attack.

I was then sick and things didn't get any better.

About 2am this morning I finally got some sleep.

Today I am in so much pain and finding it difficult to eat.

Although I am going through all of this

I'm glad we went for little Red.

He enjoyed himself so much!

 

 

Little Red really enjoyed it and for him to be able to see the flame being lit was fantastic.

Now onto what I've been making this week.

Really enjoyed making this one

I used a smaller hook to make these smaller

as the baby is only 4 1/2 lbs

I've read a couple of books this week

I decided to finish off

the Vampire Acedemy Series.

First I read book 5 Spirit Bound

I got a bit frustrated by this book.

I felt that some of the lessons that had been learnt in the previous books were repeated.

I know we don't always make right decisions but

I got a bit frustrated with them being used again.

It did have a lot of twists and turns

and it was needed for the next book in the series.

I am really going to miss this series of books.
I loved the ups and downs, the love and friendship
that runs through it all
This was a beautiful ending to a fantastic series.
Lots of exciting things happened
to get to the ending.
All the characters pulled together to make a fantastic ending.
This is well worth reading!
