What You Doing Wednesday Week 53

I hope everyone's week is going well!

Number One son and Hubby are back at school & work.
Hip hip horay!
I miss them when they aren't here
but my fatigue is so much worse with all the noise in the house.
It's bliss just to sit in a silent room.

Last weekend Little Red had to go shopping
for a new football kit (soccer).
He had to go straight to the park and try out
his new football boots and football.
He has never had football boots with studs on before so he is very excited.
I just hope he has a space at football club now!

This week I've got a couple of things I'm making.
First I am part way through making the Ninky Nonk.
This is part of the train from in the Night Garden.
I am designing this one myself for a friends son.

and I am also in the middle of a robot blankie.

I bought the pattern from One & Two Company
As you can see the blankie and the main part of the head are complete.
This is what it should look like complete:

I am listening to:
Walden by Henry David Thoreau
I think everyone should read this book!!!!!
Henry Thoreau was ahead of his time.
There is so much of what he is saying that is just so true to today.
This book will get you thinking about so much in life.
It is a social critique that just has to be read.
There are times I have been laughing out load
because what he says is just so true.
I will give you more details once I have finished the book
but in the meantime it's free go and download the book
to read or listen to:

With Little Red this week we have just started the
Magic Tree Set of books.
His grandparents got him the Starter Set:

I couldn't recommend this set of books highly enough!
The stories are centred around a brother and sister
who find a tree house in the nearby woods
that has lots of books in it.
If you open a book and wish you were there the
tree house transports them to it.
The first book is about dinosaurs.
This got Little Red hooked!
We are already on the 2nd book and have ordered more
from the set from the library.
In the starter pack you get the
1st & 2nd book, a games and puzzles book & a dinosaur fact book.
I'm sure these books will keep any child entertained.
Little Red has shown all of his relatives his books and
even wants to read them when he gets up in the morning.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway:

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.

I've Made Friday Week 47

I hope your week has gone well
& you have a fantastic weekend ahead of you.

Little Red's nose is a bit better and touch wood
he didn't seem to have a nose bleed yesterday.
He did however lose one of this teeth.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures but he wouldn't stop
moving because he was so excited.
We don't have the tooth fairy in our house.
The first time we tried it he cried his eyes out because he didn't want
her to take his tooth away.
The next time we gave him the choice, you keep your tooth
and get nothing or you give your tooth
to the tooth fairy and get some money.
Little Red chose the tooth.
I think it costs us less ;-)

I've had a bit of an exciting week.
I joined Peerindex
and was able to get some perks.
I think the idea behind it is you tweet, post etc
about the item and in return you get
vouchers or free products.
The first one I joined was about a charity.
You get a £50 voucher to spend at FitFlop
if you spread the word about the
CARE International charity walk:

From 4 - 10 March, the charity  is asking people to walk 10,000 steps a day in solidarity with girls like Ayanna.

It's to highlight the long distances children and adults have to walk
just to try and get some clean water.

I would love to do a charity walk to support this but
with my CFS that is impossible.
I'm lucky if I can walk up a flight of stairs never mind 10,000 steps.

Here are the shoes I bought with my voucher:

They are just sooo comfy and they are real wool felt!
It was free delivery as well so it couldn't have been
more perfect!

The next perk was for 100 free minicards from Moo.
The process was easy to follow.
It was easy to design and set-up your cards.
Not only that the delivery was free and they were here within a couple of days.
I am really pleased with mine and would highly recommend them!

The cards are very cute!
A coloured design is also included on the back (for free)
and there is no advertising on the card at all!

I was asked some questions about the steam cleaner I purchased.
I bought the Wolf Steam Cleaner
When you are using the small upholstery cloths
I did find it did drip once the cloth had gotten wet.
It didn't drip as much with the window cleaning attachment
and the handle and attachment is angled so it doesn't drip onto you anyway.
I also used:
cleaning cloths so that it wiped any excess water off and made the windows gleam.
The handy thing with the wolf steamer is that
you can add or remove the handle.  If you are trying to clean
something higher up you just add the handle and it makes it easier.

As you can see from the picture above you can
add the handle and the mop fitting
and then it's a steam mop for the floors.
You can add the cloths above to the mop
and it will clean up spills as well.

It does drip a bit when you are using the handheld
and at times I did find it a bit awkward.
The big thing for me is it doesn't take a lot of effort to clean something
and I know the germs are being killed at the same time.
Hubby maybe trying it out on the bathroom this weekend.
I'm not up to doing anymore at the moment (another chest infection).
But when I'm up to it I'll let you know the results.

If you want to see the video about this product
just go to the ebay page

Now onto my makes this week:
and here is my finished cardigan:
I loved making it!
The course was fantastic!
It was easy to watch, stop, rewind, and follow when you wanted to.
I could even follow one part of a lesson, pause it
and come back and carry on a couple of days later.
I love the way Linda teaches and her
hints that she gives all the way through are fantastic.
I've already signed up to her other course:
and can't wait to start!

I finally finished my Newborn baby boy overalls
I bought the pattern from Cathy Ren
It's a really easy pattern to follow
and I really like the fact that they button up at the bottom
for diaper changing.
It was a really easy pattern to follow and
you can make the design look so much different
with all her ideas within the pattern:

The pattern covers sizes from 0 months up to 24 months

The other thing I made this week was
newborn leg warmers
I loved making these.
They were so quick and easy!
They were a free pattern from
The pattern was easy to follow and I think they look soo cute!

I finished reading:
I loved each story.
They were all beautifully written
and just warmed your heart.
I would of loved some of them to go
on longer as I just wanted to know what their future held.
They were easy to read and long enough
to keep you interested.
If you want a nice easy heartwarming read I would highly recommend
this book.
I give it 4 out of 5

I also finished listening to:
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I loved listening to these books.
The reader was fantastic, his accents
made me laugh at times. Being English
myself and knowing the accents
of London etc he didn't get them quite right.
All in all a fantastic book to listen to and I highly recommend the reader.
I can't wait to choose my next free audio book to listen to.
I think I'll chose one out of Books Should be Free's top 100
audio books.

Some more exciting news.
has ever so kindly awarded me:

I've also got to answer 5 questions:
1.  Cookies or cake? I think I'd say cake - battenburg is my favorite
2.  Vanilla or chocolate? Ice Cream would have to be vanilla
3. What is your favourite sweet treat? Apple crumble with ice cream
4. When do you crave sweet things the most? That would be all t he time ;-)
5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be? Dime bar - there is more to me than just what is on the outside.

Now for my bakers dozen of lovely blogs I'd like to pass this on to.

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
to see what other people have been making.
Can you also put the pin and link to http://crochetaddictuk.blogspot.com
so that we can get more people joining in.
Thanks!
