I've Made Friday Week 47

I hope your week has gone well
& you have a fantastic weekend ahead of you.

Little Red's nose is a bit better and touch wood
he didn't seem to have a nose bleed yesterday.
He did however lose one of this teeth.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures but he wouldn't stop
moving because he was so excited.
We don't have the tooth fairy in our house.
The first time we tried it he cried his eyes out because he didn't want
her to take his tooth away.
The next time we gave him the choice, you keep your tooth
and get nothing or you give your tooth
to the tooth fairy and get some money.
Little Red chose the tooth.
I think it costs us less ;-)

I've had a bit of an exciting week.
I joined Peerindex
and was able to get some perks.
I think the idea behind it is you tweet, post etc
about the item and in return you get
vouchers or free products.
The first one I joined was about a charity.
You get a £50 voucher to spend at FitFlop
if you spread the word about the
CARE International charity walk:

From 4 - 10 March, the charity  is asking people to walk 10,000 steps a day in solidarity with girls like Ayanna.

It's to highlight the long distances children and adults have to walk
just to try and get some clean water.

I would love to do a charity walk to support this but
with my CFS that is impossible.
I'm lucky if I can walk up a flight of stairs never mind 10,000 steps.

Here are the shoes I bought with my voucher:

They are just sooo comfy and they are real wool felt!
It was free delivery as well so it couldn't have been
more perfect!

The next perk was for 100 free minicards from Moo.
The process was easy to follow.
It was easy to design and set-up your cards.
Not only that the delivery was free and they were here within a couple of days.
I am really pleased with mine and would highly recommend them!

The cards are very cute!
A coloured design is also included on the back (for free)
and there is no advertising on the card at all!

I was asked some questions about the steam cleaner I purchased.
I bought the Wolf Steam Cleaner
When you are using the small upholstery cloths
I did find it did drip once the cloth had gotten wet.
It didn't drip as much with the window cleaning attachment
and the handle and attachment is angled so it doesn't drip onto you anyway.
I also used:
cleaning cloths so that it wiped any excess water off and made the windows gleam.
The handy thing with the wolf steamer is that
you can add or remove the handle.  If you are trying to clean
something higher up you just add the handle and it makes it easier.

As you can see from the picture above you can
add the handle and the mop fitting
and then it's a steam mop for the floors.
You can add the cloths above to the mop
and it will clean up spills as well.

It does drip a bit when you are using the handheld
and at times I did find it a bit awkward.
The big thing for me is it doesn't take a lot of effort to clean something
and I know the germs are being killed at the same time.
Hubby maybe trying it out on the bathroom this weekend.
I'm not up to doing anymore at the moment (another chest infection).
But when I'm up to it I'll let you know the results.

If you want to see the video about this product
just go to the ebay page

Now onto my makes this week:
and here is my finished cardigan:
I loved making it!
The course was fantastic!
It was easy to watch, stop, rewind, and follow when you wanted to.
I could even follow one part of a lesson, pause it
and come back and carry on a couple of days later.
I love the way Linda teaches and her
hints that she gives all the way through are fantastic.
I've already signed up to her other course:
and can't wait to start!

I finally finished my Newborn baby boy overalls
I bought the pattern from Cathy Ren
It's a really easy pattern to follow
and I really like the fact that they button up at the bottom
for diaper changing.
It was a really easy pattern to follow and
you can make the design look so much different
with all her ideas within the pattern:

The pattern covers sizes from 0 months up to 24 months

The other thing I made this week was
newborn leg warmers
I loved making these.
They were so quick and easy!
They were a free pattern from
The pattern was easy to follow and I think they look soo cute!

I finished reading:
I loved each story.
They were all beautifully written
and just warmed your heart.
I would of loved some of them to go
on longer as I just wanted to know what their future held.
They were easy to read and long enough
to keep you interested.
If you want a nice easy heartwarming read I would highly recommend
this book.
I give it 4 out of 5

I also finished listening to:
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I loved listening to these books.
The reader was fantastic, his accents
made me laugh at times. Being English
myself and knowing the accents
of London etc he didn't get them quite right.
All in all a fantastic book to listen to and I highly recommend the reader.
I can't wait to choose my next free audio book to listen to.
I think I'll chose one out of Books Should be Free's top 100
audio books.

Some more exciting news.
has ever so kindly awarded me:

I've also got to answer 5 questions:
1.  Cookies or cake? I think I'd say cake - battenburg is my favorite
2.  Vanilla or chocolate? Ice Cream would have to be vanilla
3. What is your favourite sweet treat? Apple crumble with ice cream
4. When do you crave sweet things the most? That would be all t he time ;-)
5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be? Dime bar - there is more to me than just what is on the outside.

Now for my bakers dozen of lovely blogs I'd like to pass this on to.

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
to see what other people have been making.
Can you also put the pin and link to http://crochetaddictuk.blogspot.com
so that we can get more people joining in.
Thanks!

What You Doing Wednesday Week 47

Good morning everyone!
Hope your week is going well.

Things have been a bit stressful.
My poor little man
hurt himself.
He tripped up with things in his hands
and made a right mess of his face.

It's getting better but it has set off nose bleeds.
He is having one or two each day.
If it doesn't settle down he'll have to go to the doctors.

On a brighter note hubby has been doing loads of overtime.
As I struggle with housework I talked him into a steam cleaner.
We'd never had one and so far I'm finding it a very useful investment.

Our dog Benji loves to sit on the back of the couch
and look out of the window.
The big problem is the mess from his nose.
I don't have the strength to clean it off
but I don't need strength anymore.
This is the window before cleaning
And this is the window sill

The steam cleaner has an attachment especially for cleaning windows.
This is what it look like afterwards.
No muscles used and it cleaned it extremely quickly.

I have also used the mop attachment to clean out hardwood floors.
It's fantastic! It even cleaned up the ingrained mud
that I hadn't been able to get rid of all winter.

I would highly recommend a steam cleaner.
I can't wait to have enough energy to see
what else I can clean in the house.

The other fantastic thing about steam cleaners
is they kill the germs with the heat of the steam.
You don't need any chemicals to get your house clean.
I have asthma and struggle using most household
cleaning products.
I don't need to worry anymore!

Now here is what I am making:
I'm making progress with my dungarees.
You'll have to wait till Friday to see my cardigan
as it's finished :-)

If you are a designer or blogger
& you would like some more free exposure
then I have an offer for you.
I am looking for guest bloggers for my Saturdays posts.
The dates are now open from
March 16th onwards.

I am opening it to my readers 1st
so if you want a spot just email me:
susand1408 at gmail dot com

You are able to post about anything you want.
It's a blank paper and you can
write what you want.

I hope you like the new web design.
I am trying to learn how to program it myself
but at the moment I'm winging it.
I'm hoping that the designs and the blog will only get better.

Now I told you about:

Storybook Felts

I would highly recommend going
over and checking out Melissa's new designs.
They are fantastic!

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 46

Good morning everyone!
Hope your week is going well.

We might get snow again.
Last time they said we weren't getting snow it did.
Then they said we were and we didn't.
We'll just have to wait and see.
I hope it doesn't snow too much
as little Red is meant to be going to granny & grandads.

As you might of guessed Little Red is
off school for half term.

This has been quite an exciting week
for crocheting.
I've still been making my penguins.
Still not finished!
I've got another 9 bodies to go and then it's just a case of
putting all 35 together :-(

Now the exciting part is I decided to give
myself a few days break from the penguins.

I decided to try out the Craftsy Course:
the instructor is:
Linda Permann

I am loving this course!!!
You learn how to make a beautiful baby cardigan.
As you move along the course you
learn all of Linda's hints and tips
as well as the how to make the cardigan.
I've been crocheting for nearly 2 years
& I have learnt sooooo much!
I have already purchased Linda's
other course:

Here is my cardigan so far:
I've got to finish sewing it together
and then put the edging and buttons on.
I am loving making it!

I am also making a set
of baby overalls (dungarees) to match:
I haven't got as far on these
I am using a Cathyren pattern that I purchased.

Now to some even more exciting news!
There is a new site/shop just opened.
It isn't crochet but it's really exciting.
Please Pop over and take a look:

Storybook Felts

is run by my best friend Melissa
I am sure it's going to be a huge success!!!!

I am still reading my books.
I am up to about chapter 9 of sherlock holmes
on the audio book.
I'm really enjoying relaxing, listening and crocheting
at the same time :-)
And it's free

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

The books are even better than the series.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
