I've Made Friday Week 55

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week
and are looking forward to the weekend.

We had some beautiful weather and it seemed
like spring had a arrived.
The weather tricked us :-(
It's now really windy and it's gone cold again.
Hopefully spring will return soon.

It was my mums 60th birthday last weekend.
She had a little buffet at her house
and her family came to celebrate.
My mum loves her cups of tea
so as part of her birthday presents I made her a tea cosy.
It only took me a couple of hours
but I think it turned out ok.

I finished my Gracie dress:
This is another fantastic pattern from Lisa's Heirloom Designs
This is her Gracie Dress Pattern
This is the finished dress in Lisa's shop:
Beautiful Gracie Dress Crochet Pattern Size 0 to 3 months
I loved this pattern.  Lisa's patterns are so easy to follow
and I love the details she creates.
We are having a fantastic giveaway from her this Sunday
so please come and enter.

I'm still listening to:
Walden by Henry David Thoreau

Don't forget to enter the giveaway:

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 54

I hope everyone's week is going well!

The weather has been a lot warmer this week
which has been very nice.
Everything is starting to grow again.

I have just started a long term project.
I wanted something for the evenings
that I could pick up when I wanted to.
I decided to choose:
This is a beautiful book
with a fantastic cause.
Laurinda Reddig started the Remembering Rowan Project to donate handmade blankets to local babies and children in need in memory of her daughter. Proceeds from this book will be used to fund Rowan’s Milk, a non-profit organization she is forming to provide education on Lactation After Loss to other mothers who have lost a baby.
Book:

I can't make to each of the squares and make it into a family blanket.

I am also making:
This is another fantastic pattern from Lisa's Heirloom Designs
This is her Gracie Dress Pattern
This is the finished dress in Lisa's shop:
Beautiful Gracie Dress Crochet Pattern Size 0 to 3 months

I'm still listening to:
I am listening to:
Walden by Henry David Thoreau
The book is now starting to show it's age.
Due to the era it was written it has
certain views of men and women that we wouldn't
agree with.
The author does think a lot of himself!
I am still enjoying it and it still makes me laugh
in parts.
I'll do a full review once I'm finished.

I've Made Friday Week 54

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week
and are looking forward to the weekend.

Our house has been a lot more peaceful
this week.
Hubby is back at work and Little Red is back at school.

I finished my Robot Blankie :-)

I love how it turned out.
He is already in Little Red's bed.
This was a fantastic pattern to follow.
There are multiple pictures and the instructions are in both
written and chart format.
I made this from the One & Two Company pattern

I also finished my Ninky Nonk

I finished a dress from the
by

As you can see it's a fantastic pattern!
Lisa's patterns are so easy to follow, clear instructions and pictures to follow.

I forgot to show you this finish the other week

I made a Pterodactyl for Little Red for Easter.
I bought the pattern from
Be careful if you buy this set of patterns.
There is one listing for full price and one listing for 1/2 price.
I unfortunately paid full price.
I found quite a few errors in the Triceratops pattern
and a couple in this pattern.
I also couldn't follow or figure out the hands and feet
so made mine up myself.
I love the look of these patterns I am just disappointed that I
have to make so many amendments to them.

Now for my exciting makes!!!!!!
And a big confession.
I have never learnt to sew.
The other week Thursdays Handmade Love
theme was lambs/sheep
The Little Hibou Shoppe kindly
gave me a copy of the lamb pattern as a thank you for featuring their item.
This is a picture of their pattern:
Stuffed Lamb PATTERN - Sew by Hand Plush Felt Stuffed Animal PDF - Easy to Make
The pattern comes with full instructions!
It includes instructions for each of the stitches
with full pictures and diagrams.
This is a fantastic pattern and even a beginner
can make one!  How fantastic is that.
Now please take into account this is the first
time ever!
It only took a couple of hours to make
and for a first go I don't think my lamb looks too bad.
It's inspired me to sew again so watch this space!
I would highly recommend this and Tina's other patterns they are just as fantastic!

My big decision will be which one I want to buy and make.
They are just fantastic designs.

This week I've been reading the Magic Tree House
books with Little Red
Book:

Kindle:

First we read Dinosaurs before Dark
This is a fantastic book!!!!!!!
Little Red loved the excitement and suspense.
In the first book a brother & sister (Jack & Annie)
find a tree house in their local wood.
In the tree house are books.
These books are magic and can take them to the places in the book.
In the first book Jack wishes he could fly on a dinosaur.
The imagination in the book is fantastic.
Little Red kept asking me to read more and more!
We have also read the 2nd book in the series:
Book:

Kindle:

Knights at Dawn
is book 2 in the series.
Jack & Annie whisk off to a castle where there is a great knight.
I won't give you any more information as I don't want to
spoil the story.
What I can say is Little Red was sooo excited to read these books.
If we hadn't finished the book before bed it was the
first thing he asked for in the morning.

I'm still listening to Walden so
I'll hopefully review it in full next week.

I have started my craftsy shuttle tatting course
I have finished the introduction & lesson one.
I have so far learnt how to wind my shuttle
& how to Tat Double Stitch
This might not look like much but I'm really proud of myself.
It's taking some getting used to.
I am so glad I am following the course.
I don't think there was anyway I would be able to learn it from a book.
I've been rewinding and watching all the way through.
I can't wait to start learning how to make the shapes.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway:

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!

I've Made Friday Week 48

I hope your week has gone well
& you have a fantastic weekend ahead of you.
I hope you had a good February and are
welcoming March.

I'm seriously ill at the moment
so I'll be around when I can.
I'm on the strongest antibiotics saved for pneumonia
patients. If these don't work they aren't sure what they can do.
They have upped my steriods and are hoping this will help.
I'll keep you updated and fingers
crossed I'll be on the mend soon!

Now I've got loads to show you!
I've been making things whilst I've been ill.
I'm struggling to sleep as my chest is making a horrible
rattling noise.
I'll be glad when I recover.

Shells legwarmers
from
This is the pattern set I bought:
Pixie Boonet and matching shell legwarmers - CROCHET PATTERN
The pattern is available on:

This is a beautiful pattern & really easy to follow.

Next I made a Baby set:

This is the Starbirght Bonnet & Legwarmers
This is the set I bought:
Rainbow Bonnet / Diaper Cover Leg Warmers / Photography Prop / 3 Sizes / 3 Boys & A Ball of Yarn
The pattern is available on:
Etsy
Ravelry

Next I made:
Now I did make quite a number
of mistakes on this pattern.
They are only little ones & I think it
will look much better after being
blocked.
I followed the free pattern:
by Sarah Cooper

I also made:
Some booties from the pattern:
I haven't added the ribbon yet
but I might try once I'm a bit better

I finally finished my baby blanket

I'll have better pictures when we actually get some sun.

I have also designed a few add on's for my Free Mug Cozy Pattern:

I'm hoping to get them typed up soon and you'll be able
to change your applique to what mood or festivity it is.

Now that's all I've made - not been really busy :-)

I've also been trying to design my own
banner and pin:
It's not perfect but for a first try I don't think it's too bad

As you know I've recently bought a Craftsy Course.
I bought and followed the:
Beyond Rectangles Course by Linda Bermann

Retail Price: $24.99
You Save: $10.00
from: Craftsy.com

This is an easy pattern to follow & throughout
Linda gives you lots of hints and tips.
You also get a special tutorial
at the end of the course.
Throughout the course you can ask questions and get the answers
straight from Linda.
Linda's support makes a huge difference. If you get confused you can get the help.
You can do the course at your own speed & repeat as many
times as you want.
I often paused and then carried on watching when I was ready.
I loved the fact that I could see what I should be doing.
You were given options to choose what you would like
to do on certain parts.
Linda makes all the instructions clear and you don't miss a thing.

After completing this course I decided that
I enjoyed it so much I wanted to sign you for more.
Hubby let me sign up for a couple as part of my up coming birthday present
and a couple I had bought when they were on sale:

Retail Price: $29.99
You Save: $10.00
from: Craftsy.com

I purchased some tunisian hooks when I first start to crochet.
Apart from making 2 cowls they have been left to collect dust.
I can't wait to follow this course and blow the dust off them.
I had only really learnt one stitch previously so this is going
to be a fantastic course to learn more.

Retail Price: $24.99
You Save: $10.00
from: Craftsy.com

I couldn't resist signing up for another one of Linda's courses.
I also can't wait to make different things to brighten up my clothes
and my home.

I am also looking at the:

Retail Price: $39.99
You Save: $10.00
from: Craftsy.com

This course looks really exciting and the patterns look beautiful.
It's not something I've looked at before
& I think it is one where a course will
be of a great help.
I also love the fact it teaches you how to convert old patterns
so you can use with today's techniques.

I've finished listening to:
Audio:
Dracula by Bram Stoker

I loved listening to this book.
I really enjoyed the old English and some of the
different ways and predictions they had for the future.
I am so glad I took the time to actually read (well listen)
to the Original Dracula
I would highly recommend this book!
It's a classic in every sense.

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
