I've Made Friday Week 54

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week
and are looking forward to the weekend.

Our house has been a lot more peaceful
this week.
Hubby is back at work and Little Red is back at school.

I finished my Robot Blankie :-)

I love how it turned out.
He is already in Little Red's bed.
This was a fantastic pattern to follow.
There are multiple pictures and the instructions are in both
written and chart format.
I made this from the One & Two Company pattern

I also finished my Ninky Nonk

I finished a dress from the
by

As you can see it's a fantastic pattern!
Lisa's patterns are so easy to follow, clear instructions and pictures to follow.

I forgot to show you this finish the other week

I made a Pterodactyl for Little Red for Easter.
I bought the pattern from
Be careful if you buy this set of patterns.
There is one listing for full price and one listing for 1/2 price.
I unfortunately paid full price.
I found quite a few errors in the Triceratops pattern
and a couple in this pattern.
I also couldn't follow or figure out the hands and feet
so made mine up myself.
I love the look of these patterns I am just disappointed that I
have to make so many amendments to them.

Now for my exciting makes!!!!!!
And a big confession.
I have never learnt to sew.
The other week Thursdays Handmade Love
theme was lambs/sheep
The Little Hibou Shoppe kindly
gave me a copy of the lamb pattern as a thank you for featuring their item.
This is a picture of their pattern:
Stuffed Lamb PATTERN - Sew by Hand Plush Felt Stuffed Animal PDF - Easy to Make
The pattern comes with full instructions!
It includes instructions for each of the stitches
with full pictures and diagrams.
This is a fantastic pattern and even a beginner
can make one!  How fantastic is that.
Now please take into account this is the first
time ever!
It only took a couple of hours to make
and for a first go I don't think my lamb looks too bad.
It's inspired me to sew again so watch this space!
I would highly recommend this and Tina's other patterns they are just as fantastic!
5 Hand Sewing PATTERNS - Cat Dog Kitten Puppy and Mouse - Make Your Own Pet Stuffed Animals - Easy 5 Arctic Stuffed Animal Hand Sewing PATTERNS - Make Your Own Hand-embroidered felt Polar Bear, Rabbit, Moose, Penguin, Seal - Easy 7 Woodland Forest Stuffed Animal Hand Sewing PATTERNS - DIY Owl Fox Frog Skunk Hedgehog Beaver Plushies - Easy

Bird Christmas Ornament PATTERNS - Felt Birds, Birdhouse, and Acorn PDFs - Hand Embroidered - Suitable for Beginners
My big decision will be which one I want to buy and make.
They are just fantastic designs.

This week I've been reading the Magic Tree House
books with Little Red
Book:

Kindle:

First we read Dinosaurs before Dark
This is a fantastic book!!!!!!!
Little Red loved the excitement and suspense.
In the first book a brother & sister (Jack & Annie)
find a tree house in their local wood.
In the tree house are books.
These books are magic and can take them to the places in the book.
In the first book Jack wishes he could fly on a dinosaur.
The imagination in the book is fantastic.
Little Red kept asking me to read more and more!
We have also read the 2nd book in the series:
Book:

Kindle:

Knights at Dawn
is book 2 in the series.
Jack & Annie whisk off to a castle where there is a great knight.
I won't give you any more information as I don't want to
spoil the story.
What I can say is Little Red was sooo excited to read these books.
If we hadn't finished the book before bed it was the
first thing he asked for in the morning.

I'm still listening to Walden so
I'll hopefully review it in full next week.

I have started my craftsy shuttle tatting course
I have finished the introduction & lesson one.
I have so far learnt how to wind my shuttle
& how to Tat Double Stitch
This might not look like much but I'm really proud of myself.
It's taking some getting used to.
I am so glad I am following the course.
I don't think there was anyway I would be able to learn it from a book.
I've been rewinding and watching all the way through.
I can't wait to start learning how to make the shapes.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway:

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
to see what other people have been making.
Can you also put the pin and link to this page
so that we can get more people joining in.
Thanks!

What You Doing Wednesday Week 15

Happy 4th July to everyone!

I hope everyone is safe!
I've been reading on a lot of blogs from
America about the awful fires
you've been having!
I wish I could send you some of our rain!!!
We are the opposite and are all rained out.

This week is a bad week for my CFS :-(
I'm a bit worried as my left foot
is getting so painful I am struggling to walk.
The disability can throw anything at me
but it scares me when it means that
I can't function.

Enough of that positives for the week!
We have set our bird table up so
Little Red can reach it.
He now gets up every morning and fills
it with bird seed etc.
I got him a little book:

It is a fantastic little book!
The book has a page on each bird
which tells them all about them.
At the back of the book it has
a picture tick list of all the birds.
Little Red has ticked off the Black Bird
& the sparrow already!
He loves the fact he can sit
and watch his bird table from the conservatory
and tick the birds off himself.
The pictures are big so he can easily tell which bird is which
and the tick boxes are big as well.
Little hands don't make small ticks :-)

I think we need to practice in front of the mirror!
Everytime you say smile a funny face appears :-)

I am reading
The Daughters of Dracula (The Stoker Sisters)
by Kailin Gow at the moment
Kindle:

Book:

So far it seems a really good book!
It's an

Award-Winning Finalist in Women's Literature 2011 International Book Awards

I've only read about 14% of the book so far.
It's a period book
and so far we are just learning about the sisters
and their background.
I think we have been introduced to the Vampire
but we haven't been told about him yet.
I'll hopefully finish it soon and give
you the full low down.

I have a bit of a confession.
When I first started blogging
and entering giveaways
I started following hundreds of blogs.
I love reading them all but it got out of hand.
I now often have over 1000+
posts to read.
When I tried to remove some I found there
is a fault with google reader
You can't stop following any.
If you are a blog I follow I do read your posts
but due to the qty I just
can't comment often.
I'm sorry I'm not a better blogger
but I thought I would let you know why.

Now onto what I am making this week:
I've got some sad news :-(
I frogged my Tree of Life blanket.
I was thinking yesterday and realised
I needed a project that is repetitive
and not a complicated one.
Looking at the patterns I knew I would always have to be concentrating.
So on a positive note I have decided to make a basket weave blanket instead.
Yesterday I frogged and then started the new blanket
It doesn't look much yet but hopefully it will soon.

I am also making a Santa Hat
This is for my next collection of Patterns.
I'm planning on releasing a
Winter Wonderland
Pattern Selection.

I hope you are having a good week!
I hope everyone from America
has a brilliant 4th July!

I've Made Friday Week 14

Wow the end of the working week already!
I hope you have had a really good week.

Little Red wants to make a volcano this weekend
so we are looking forward to having
lots of fun making lots of mess :-)

Little Red has been working really hard
at his colouring this week.
I am so proud of how he is doing

He also made his fathers day card at grannies

We have also made a pirate hook from one
of his make it books:

He wants to make more from this book so look
out for more pirate things coming.
Little Red loves this book
because there are lots of things we can make together
and he loves being a pirate
Book:

Now onto what I've been making this week:

I made my dad a cleric for a little silly fathers day present.
I got him an amazon voucher as well but I wanted something to give him.
My dad is a trained reader at church so I thought it was
something he would like.
This pattern is from:
Book:

I also made some bunting
for our living room:

I got the free pattern from:
It's a really easy pattern to follow and I hope you agree
it turned out really well.

I have read a few books this week:

Accidentally married to...... a Vampire
by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Kindle:

I love the way Mimi writes!
The story has twists and turns all the way through.
She has a fantastic use of sarcasm!
The story is about a normal girl about to start her life in the world
but what she doesn't know is she is destined to be the true love
of a Vampire.
Niccolo is a Vampire looking for an escape from his queen.
A God Cemil gives him an out but is it that simple.
There are steamy scenes in this book so be warned ;-)
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend
it as a really good read.
I give this book 4 out of 5

The next book I read is a short story:
Madly (Book 1) (Madly Series)
by M.Leighton
Kindle:

This is the first book in the series
and is setting the scene for the rest.
It is only short to give you a taster of what is to come.
Madly seems a normal girl to her fellow students on land
but she is really a Mer princess.
Her world is turned upside down
when there is a prison escape from Atlas.
This book is a good set-up for the series
and keeps you wanting to read more.
It's gives you an opportunity to meet the characters
and learn how the story is unfolding.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward
to reading the 2nd in the series.
I give this book 3 out of 5.

The last book I have finished is:
2nd Chance by James Patterson
Kindle:

Book:

This is the 2nd book in the
Women's Murder Club
DI Lyndsay Boxer is called to the scene
of a shooting at a church where one girl
has been shot and killed.
The bug question to answer is was the girl
shot randomly or was she targeted?
I really enjoy the twists in these books and love the characters.
The women are human and have their own flaws but
when they work together they are unstoppable.
They get to the bottom of any case using each of their own know how.
This story was just as good as the 1st and will
be reading more!
My only negative is the ending! For some reason
at the end the author went into a baseball player
and I think it spoils the ending.
Apart from that I would recommend this
book if you like a good murder and cop story.
I give this book 4 out of 5

Now what have you been making this week?

What You Doing Wednesday Week 11

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
I hope everyone in the UK (& the rest of the world) had a fantastic Jubilee!

My mum had a tea party yesterday to celebrate.
Here is Little Red with his Uncle having some fun!
Not sure which one is the adult ;-)

I haven't been myself since the Olympic flame.
I pushed myself too much and now the brain fuzz
has really kicked in.
I'm resting and trying to get my brain to work a bit better.
I'm also having a new problem with my feet.
I've never had fantastic circulation but
now my feet seem to be struggling.
When I press down on my foot it takes a while for the blood to return.
I have really dry skin (which I've never had previously)
and my feet keep turning purple with orange spots.
I'll see what the doctor says next time I go.

Due to my brain fuzz and having to rest I decided to use the time to work on my blanket.
I manage to sew quite a bit of my
African Flower Blanket together.
As you can see it has really grown.
The picture doesn't really do the colours justice.
The next time we get some sunshine I'll take another picture.

I decided as the brain fuzz was bothering me
I would try another blanket.
I wanted something repetitive that didn't need yarn changing.
I started off trying:
The pattern should turn out like this:
This is a free pattern
from
Mama's Stichery Patterns site.
I liked the pattern but I had made it too long and the pattern
used a lot of yarn so I decided to frog it and try another one.

I decided upon:
This is the picture of the pattern I am following:
Image of Smoky Mountain Ripple Afghan
The pattern is from Lion Brand
This is how far I have got with mine:
This is what it looks like close up:
I am really enjoying this pattern.
It has a fantastic result and is nice and easy to follow.
I am using the yarn I won at Christmas which
is Caron Wintuk4
worsted weight yarn.

Little Red is off this week
so we have been making a Dinosaur Island.
Little Red has a book called Dinosaurs Craft Topics,
which gave the instructions of how to build the island.
Book:

We haven't finished it yet but we have made the salt dough island.
Next is painting and then building the trees.

I am reading:
Kindle:

Book:

I have only just started the book
but it's a fantasy book
regarding a world in turmoil
full of dragons, monsters, wizards & magic.
I hope you are doing well with your projects.
Please feel free to join in:
