What You Doing Wednesday Week 31

I hope you are all having a good week!

The weather is wintery at the moment.
I've been curling up in the living room
with a lovely log fire burning.
It does feel good to curl up and crochet.

Little Red is off school for his half term at the moment.
He went to Granny & Granddads on Monday
and came back yesterday.
Granny & Ganddad treated him to a new
Skylander Giant:

Whoever invented this game is very clever!
You can play the games with one character but you can't get
to most parts of the game without more.
The more characters you have the more likely you are
to complete more of the game.
Hubby loves this game and Little Red loves it as well.
Little Red now has 27 characters but has the
chart with all of them on up on the wall
so he knows which character he still needs to get.

The reason I haven't been posting about what I am reading
is I am reading a book ready for review.
The book hasn't been released yet.
On the day it's released I'll have my review for you.
It's very exciting for me :-)

Now I am being good this week.
I have finished the Evil Moon Face Hat
I have finished my brooch for the wedding.
But I am making a bag for the wedding:
A Thor Hat for Little Red:
My Toffee\Caramel Apple Hat

This week has been quite a big week for me.

I have started Collaborating with
Meldora's Creations

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 27

I can't believe it's the last Wednesday
of September already!!!!!

Where has the time gone?

I need to finish these off but they are nearly there:

This is my mini top hat
I need to stiffen it
and add the lace and feathers
I am thinking this might be an option for my brother wedding

The evening clutch is nearly finished.
It still need the fastener adding.
I used the stitch I learnt from my
first issue of "The Art of Crochet".
Each week you get some yarn and instruction
to make a different square using different stitches.
I am thinking of designing one pattern a month,
if possible. I am going to use what I have learnt
that month from the magazine.
I will have to see how it goes but fingers crossed
there will be more free patterns coming your way.

I'm still reading that book.
I've had problems with the main nerve
on the left hand side of my face.
I would of ripped my face open at one
point if someone had given me a knife.
It's meant that it's been a bit hit and miss as to what I can manage.
Reading has not been on the top of things I'm able to do.
It's eased a lot yesterday some I'm hoping I'll get back to normal soon.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
or reading is perfect.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 8

What you doing Wednesday Week 8
Already!

Benji is doing ok.
He still isn't quite himself but it's not surprising he was so scared.
His tail is still bent but he isn't in any pain.

Little Red went to Skipton castle on Monday with school.

He said there were a lot of stairs.
The dungeon had no doors on.
There was a sword in the ground
And real cannons.

I didn't think that was too bad for a description for a five year old.

Well we had some lovely weather over the weekend
but we are back to pouring rain and hail.
The poor plants don't know what to do with themselves.

I may have to go back to the doctors again.
I don't really feel like going back as I'm sure they'll
just say it's a viral throat infection which they can't do anything about anyway.
I think I am finally going to bite the bullet & see if I can get a disabled badge.
My leg and ankle are getting worse.
I'm stupid for letting it go on this long.

Anyway what have you been up to this week.
I am planning on working on my african blanket this weekend.
I will hopefully have some pictures next week.

This week I'm making:

My surprise is getting nearer to finished :-)

And I'm making myself a hat

What are you making today

I'm reading:

Kindle

Book:

So far I am really enjoying this book.
It's about a teenage girl and the changes that are happening to her.
She is a Mayan descendant who has special powers.
The book keeps you interested from the start
and is really enjoyable to read.
I let you know more once I've finished it.

What I've been making

I've been away to Skipsea for a weeks holiday. We had no internet access and no signal on my mobile.  We had a really nice relaxing holiday and had lots of fun as well.  The weather could have been better but what did we expect with a holiday in England.  Whilst I was away I had the time to make some more items.  I had an order for a dinosaur hat and scarf, cat bag & a horse hat.  All have been made and I've also made a set of Panda items.  All items for sale have been added to my website www.susand1408crochetaddict.co.uk I've posted the pictures below:

Bag to put my crochet stuff in

Well as I am making so much I decided I should make a bag to carry my crochet stuff in.  I am becoming more confident now so have decided to make this without any pattern.  I used a basic basket weave stitch.   I ran out of the cream wool so decided the bag might look good with a contrasting colour on anyway.  I am really glad I ran out of the wool cause I think it looks really good in the 2 colours.

First bag

The first bag I made.
The pattern came from the book "Funky Chunky" by Jan Eaton
I would recommend this book for someone new starting out. Basic patterns for a hat, slippers, mittens, scarf and bag. It then shows you how to personlise them. Step by step instructions that are easier to follow.
