I used a fine chenille so it was only a size 3.5mm which is a US size 4/E. To be honest I would use the hook that is the right size for the yarn you are using.
Hi...I can't wait to make this as I am a crochet addict also! But I have one question. On the strap part, you say next row +1 or next row +2. I am not sure what that means. i would appreciate you explaining that if you would. Thank you.
Debbie, you make the strap to the length you want by repeating rows 7-8. Once it is nearing the desired length you then do the rest of the pattern. the +1, +2 are just the row numbers. Hope this helps.
I'm really sorry I didn't make a note of how much I had used. I bought a huge cone of 4ply Chenille white so didn't make a note of how much I used. I used a 3.5mm hook US size 4/E
This is just what I have been looking for to crochet for the "Country Store" at my granddaughter's school fair! I only hope I can finish it in time (mid-April).
I love your ruffled bag! What size hook do I need?
