Tuesdays Patterns Week 10

I hope the start of the week is going well.
I've got a little confession.
My Mother-in-law
took us away for a relaxing long weekend.
We got back yesterday.
I'll tell you more about it later in the week.

Don't forge to enter:
Day One Day Two

Now it's time for Tuesday's Pattern

This weeks Pattern is for a Chipmunk

Chip & Dale

Now they do look fantastic!
This is a free pattern
that can be downloaded from ravelry:
Or
The only problem I have is what you are shown isn't what you get in the pattern.
The pattern is easy to follow
except you need to be aware that first st means 2nd ch from hook.
There is a mistakes.
On the cheeks 2 1sc in the next 3 st.
The thing that upset me the most was the parts
that just weren't in the pattern
The back beige part of the eye is in the pattern
but the black and white parts aren't.
Chip's black nose isn't in the pattern.
The feet are different in the pictures of the pattern
to what you get directed to do.
They even show leather at the bottom of the feet which isn't detailed.
The inside of the mouth isn't in the pattern as well.
The fluff on Dales head isn't in the pattern either.

Now overall I think mine turned out ok
but it was just disappointing not having the full pattern

Now it's your turn to link up
any patterns you love/like/designed/selling/free

Tuesday's Patterns Week 9

Welcome to Tuesday's Patterns

Yesterday my dog Benji
decided to give me heart failure.
Benji went outside in the garden and I'd gone upstairs for something.
The next thing I heard is banging coming up the stairs.
I was like "Benj what are you doing"
He came round the corner and had no control of his limbs.
As soon as he saw me he collapsed and his limbs started going everywhere.
His eyes weren't right and looked rolled into his head.
I held him and tried to keep him calm but it just wouldn't stop.
I felt his paws and they felt warm so I got cold water and put them in that to cool his paws down.
He was still the same. I knew I had to get downstairs to get the phone but he wanted to follow me.
I had to calm him down enough to get downstairs and back up again.
The stairs are my enemy but I knew I had to do it.
I called hubby and told him to get home now as I thought the dog was dying.
I didn't think that was an exaggeration at the time as Benj was now frothing at the mouth.
After what seemed liked hours Benji managed to become still.
I kept putting his paws in the water to keep them cool.
I also held him to keep him calm and still.
I then rang the vets and although it was open 9:30am - 5:30pm the vet had gone out for 2 hours.
I found another vet and we took him there.
£27 later we were told it was likely he had a fit.
As he isn't having them all the time & his temperature had gone down again
there isn't anything they can really do.
If he has a fit a month they would put him on medication but apart from that
it is just a case of keeping an eye on him.
He had a kink in his tail from when he was a puppy and the only thing different since the fit is
his tail is bent more.
I coped but I hope I never have to again.
All I kept thinking was how devastated Little Red would be if anything happened to his Benj.

Now back to our normal Tuesdays post.

Do you have a pattern
that you want to tell people about?
It could be a pattern that you have designed/selling etc
or a pattern you've followed and loved.

This weeks theme and pattern is dogs!
I love dogs and I have passed this love onto Little Red.
As soon as I saw this book I knew I had to purchase it!

Ami Ami Dogs: Seriously Cute Crochet

by Mitsuki Hoshi

I love it and it is really easy to follow.
Little Red couldn't make his mind up for ages!
He loved them all.
He finally decided on:
Labrador Retriever
I think he turned out really well.

If you love dogs & love making ami's I would
recommend this book.
In this book you get patterns for:
12 kinds of dogs, including:
Chihuahua, Welsh Corgi, Shiba,
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Miniature Dachshund, Siberian Husky,
Labrador Retriever, Maltese, Miniature Schnauzer,
French Bulldog, Beagle and Pug.

Now it's your turn.
Have you designed or followed a pattern
that you would like to promote
It doesn't have to be a free pattern & it doesn't have to follow the theme.

Tuesday's Patterns Week 8

Well I hope everyone from the UK had a fantastic Bank Holiday Weekend.
I hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend & a good start to the week.
I hope everyone that had Mothers Day on Sunday had a good one.

As you know this weekend my husband has
been working on the living room.
It looks fantastic but I'm
still going to keep you waiting till tomorrow for the pictures.

Little Red has caught a nasty cold.
Steamy hot showers before bed
& Karvol at night has been helping.
He'll be fine in a few days I hope.

This week I've got 2 patterns to review for you.
Well 3 if you count the spaceship & alien as separate patterns.
I only ended up making one alien but may make another one some where down the line.

Firstly is the Alien & Spaceship

Zaon the Alien & UFO Space Ship

Free Ravelry download:

I used a slightly thicker yarn for the spaceship & larger hook.
This was a really easy pattern to follow.
I had to change the terms slightly but that is just my preference for how I read patterns.
On the increase rows I prefer to know how many sc and then the increase.
This is a fun project that any child will enjoy playing with.
It is also an easy thing to make your own.
The only thing I would say about the pattern is if you want to stuff the arms or feet
don't finish off till you have done this.
I would also not decrease on the feet until you have stuffed so that it is easier.

This is how mine turned out:

As you can see Little Red wanted buttons on the inside so it looked like a computer.
I didn't change the colours for the feet,
as I was feeling lazy and I don't think he looks too bad all the same green.

The other pattern I used this week was

Cactus

Ravelry Free Pattern Link:
& direct link to pattern on blog

This is a really easy pattern to follow.
I loved making it
and it is going to make a fantastic pin cushion :-)
The pattern is clear and easy to follow.
The outcome I think is very cute:

Sorry about the bad picture but I still haven't got my dinning room table yet.
I'm going to use mine as a pin cushion :-)

I would also like to let you know about a fantastic giveaway
that I am taking part in:
The giveaway is worth over $800 & there are 21 prizes.

Now it's your turn.
Have you designed or followed a pattern
that you would like to promote
It doesn't have to be a free pattern.

Tuesday's Patterns Week 7

Good Morning everyone!
I hope your week is going well.

Little Red had a stomach migraine and was sick at 3am Monday morning.
He'd fallen back to sleep so it was
a case of waking him up & showering him.
As you may have guessed Monday was a bit of a right off.
He was fine when he woke up later on in the morning
so hopefully he will be at school by the time you are reading this.

We took him to his first adult party on Saturday night.
It was my cousins 40th birthday party.
We let him stay till 9pm (mostly because I needed to go to bed).
He was so well behaved.
Luckily they had put bubbles on each table so he had fun with them.
Granddad even got up and danced with him.

This week in honour of Mollie Makes
the theme is Roses.

I decided to try out another rose pattern.
crocheted roses

I used a 3.5mm(E) hook
& Aran (10ply)
I think if I made another one I wouldn't make as many petals or
I would use a finer yarn.
This was a really easy pattern to follow & there
are even step by step photo's to follow.
Now here is the rose I made:

I think it turned out really well!

Thursdays Homemade love is also going to be about Roses.
Make sure you come back as there are links to some
beautiful things!

Now it's your turn to link
to any patterns you want to promote/link to

Tuesday's Patterns Week 6

Wow Tuesday already!
This month is going by so fast
I can't believe we are so near the end so soon!

Hubby has taken the week off
so that he can sort out the fireplace
& decorate that wall in the living room.
I'll hopefully remember to take some pictures for you to see.

This week I want to review
a Monkey Pattern:

I found this pattern really easy to follow.
The only change I made was
adding a button to the end of the banana.
The button means you can take it off the monkey.
Little Red really liked that idea.

Here is the one I made:

I would highly recommend this pattern.

Now it's your turn
Link to a pattern you have made/designed/recommend
Please add the button to your blog if you can
as we want to spread the word

Tuesday's Patterns Week 4

Good morning everyone .
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter!

Button

I tried to have another pattern reviewed for you as well.
Only problem was CFS kicked in!
I tried to make it 4 times and 4 times I made stupid
mistakes so gave up.
I'll try again tomorrow if I'm back on form.

Today's pattern I want to review
is my favorite hat pattern.
I have made this pattern up at least 5 times, if not more.

http://web.archive.org/web/20010802150954/members.aol.com/lffunt/guycap.html

This newsboy hat is a really easy pattern to follow
and I love the results.
Here are some of the ones I have made.

This is a free pattern that I would highly recommend.
Please be aware that when it comes to the peak you use
2 strands of yarn together.
This works really well and helps it to keep it's shape well.

The pattern link also has a matching scarf you can make as well.

I hope you like today's pattern.
Please link any patterns you would like to recommend.
Patterns only!
I don't mind if it's crochet, knitting etc.
